Articles of Incorporation are document(s) written by the founders of a corporation and filed in the state of incorporation. If the state approves the articles it will issue a certificate of incorporation and the corporation becomes a legal entity. Articles of Incorporation include the corporations name, its purpose, and the amount of shares authorized to be sold.
